Absolute Poker Review
Absolute Poker is known for the outstanding bonuses they offer. First you get
a large welcome bonus, then each player can expect 6 to 7 reload bonuses every
single month!!
They do accept US players, and have deposit methods in place for US players.
I’ve been able to successfully deposit via Credit Card, but it took 2 attempts.

Absolute Poker has a solid foundation and a long history of good customer
service for a poker room. What makes absolute poker one of the best is the
character of players you play against. The poker bonsues offered by Absolute
Poker is probably the best in the industry!
Bonuses and Promotions
Absolute is at the top of the class when it comes to poker room bonuses. They
offer a generous sign up bonus, and they follow it up with a steady stream of
redeposit offers.
The bonuses are released in $10 increments, so you don’t need to clear the
enitre bonus at once. They are also “stackable”. You can have bonus money in
your account, and add to it when another deposit bonus is offered.
The bonuses do expire, so you can’t keep them forever. But, the amount of time
you are given to play off the bonus money is more than reasonable, and you’ll
receive several alerts from the room before bonus money expires.
In my experience, I never have to play at Absolute without earning bonus money.
Tournaments
Absolute Poker is a large enough room to offer some exciting tournament action.
They are involved in a steady stream of what I call “Feature Tournaments”. In
these events players will compete for prizes like a trip to the 2007 Aruba Poker
Classic, or an “Absolute Dream Package” (a tournament entry package worth
$125,000).
Besides these major events, the room hosts a weekly series of Guaranteed money
tournaments that includes a $150,000 and a $60,000 guarantee every Sunday.
Of course there are regularly scheduled events, Sit and Go’s, Freerolls, and
even Private tournaments.
Software
The poker room is constantly updating their software, adding new features and
making navagation throughout the room easier. Right now, they have both a
downloadable, and a Mac-Comaptible “Instant Play” version.
The room is Poker Tracker compatible, so serious players can keep track of their
play and also use the Poker Ace HUD at Absolute.
You can play at several tables at once, and the tables are now resizeable, so
you won’t have to switch between windows to keep track of the action.
Once you are at the tables you can access options like a 4 color deck (great for
multi-tabling), rabbit cam, and instant hand histories and video replays. The
betting buttons do not include “bet pot” or “half pot” options, but the pot and
bet amounts are displayed at the table.
Player Numbers and Skill
There are regularly over 10,000 players in the room, although not all of them
are playing for real money. That does, however, mean that there are enough
players there to provide a good table selection and reasonable Sit and Go start
up rates.
The poker room bonuses at Absolute are quite a draw, so you can expect to find
skilled opponents at your table. Don’t be disappointed if they aren’t all
skilled, but if you’re looking for a fish-fest you’d be better off playing at a
room with a sportsbook attached.
Overall Grade - A-
It’s really a matter of preference. I’ve knocked off points because the software
lacks some features that I’ve found myself to rely upon. Having to use the
slider to bet is bothersome to me. And I do miss the “bet pot” button as well as
resizeable tables.
These are features that can be added at any moment though. The things that are
hard to change, like player traffic, are positives to me. There is a reasonable
amount of tables to choose from, and the bonuses are wonderful.
At first I disliked the 9 man tables, but I’ve become accustomed to them. I also
think that the blinds of $2/$3 unfairly juices the game at the $3/$6 limit
tables. But, I like being able to buy in to the No Limit cash tables for 200bb
instead of 100 like at some other rooms. So there’s give and take in those
situations.
The experiences I’ve had with customer service have all been great, so I know
that there are people at the room that know that there are people playing at the
room. That’s a plus.
It’s hard for one poker room to do everything right for everybody, but Absolute
does a lot of things right.
